An Antichrist acts or reacts in a way that is 100% the opposite of how Jesus would respond in the same situation. It also means against Christ or in place of Christ.
Antichrist is also a spirit. The spirit of Antichrist can rule a person, a group, or a nation. This spirit turns situations to its advantage by encouraging anti-Christian attitudes and actions. Such as when a calm group of people suddenly turn into a raging mob that terrorizes people or vandalizes property. This spirit can cause a nation to take offense at their neighbor and attack them.
The Bible also refers to “The Antichrist” who will be a human who appears in the last seven years of time on earth. The Antichrist and the False Prophet are prophesied about in the Old Testament and the New. These two figures will orchestrate the rise of evil in the last days before Jesus returns to destroy them.
While the word antichrist only appears four times in the Bible the person or spirit of antichrist is shown from the beginning of the Word all the way through to Revelations
1 John 2:18 (KJV) 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1 John 2:22 (KJV) 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3 (KJV) 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2 John 1:7 (KJV) 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
1 John 2:18 (NKJV) 18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.
1 John 2:22 (NKJV) 22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3 (NKJV) 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
2 John 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
In other places the antichrist is referred to as a beast. Strongs defines this translated word as metaphorically a brutal, bestial man, savage, ferocious. There are three villains of Revelation: the dragon, or Satan, the beast, or the antichrist, and the false prophet. The beast and the false prophet are humans.
The three villains will step on the stage to perform the final play of evil on this earth. Satan will play God. The antichrist will play the Messiah. The false prophet will be preaching that the antichrist is the Messiah and all should follow him.
Christ and Antichrist Examples
God has explained the concept of the Antichrist many times in the Bible. The first is with Cain and Able. Able represents all that is good and pleasing to God while Cain represents actions and attitudes that God hates. Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord and the Lord rejected his offering. Able brought the firstlings of his flock and the fat. God accepted Able’s offering because only a blood sacrifice is acceptable to God. Cain’s jealousy and vengeful violence make Cain the first example of an Antichrist.
Genesis 4:8 (KJV) 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Genesis 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.
Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. After the flood Noah drank wine and while he was drunk Ham entered his tent and saw his uncovered nakedness. There are a lot of opinions on what this scripture means. It could be literal in the statement that he viewed his father unclothed and this was forbidden. However, in Leviticus the law states very plainly that having sex with your father’s wife is to uncover your father’s nakedness. Either way Ham’s son Canaan was cursed by Noah because of what Ham did.
Genesis 9:21-22 (KJV) 21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
Leviticus 18:8 (KJV) 8 The nakedness of thy father’s wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father’s nakedness.
Genesis 9:25 (KJV) 25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan;
A servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
Genesis 9:21-22 (NKJV) 21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.
Leviticus 18:8 (NKJV) 8 The nakedness of your father’s wife you shall not uncover; it is your father’s nakedness.
Genesis 9:25 (NKJV) 25 Then he said:
“Cursed be Canaan;
A servant of servants
He shall be to his brethren.”
Canaan was the father of the Canaanites who were defeated by Joshua and the children of Israel. He was also the progenitor of the Phoenicians. Ham’s first son Cush was the father of Nimrod. Nimrod was the man who decided to build the tower of Babel. He built the kingdoms of Babylon and Assyria, both of which have always been enemies of God.
The next set of opposites examples is Isaac and Ishmael. Isaac was pleasing to God and received the blessings of God. Ishmael received a blessing from God, but he was not the chosen one. God made His covenant with Isaac. Ishmael is the progenitor of the Arabian peoples. From his day to this day the Arabs and the Israeli people are constantly at odds.
Genesis 17:20-21 (KJV) 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
Genesis 17:20-21 (NKJV) 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.”
Jacob and Esau are the next examples. Jacob was by no means the righteous holy one but was pleasing to God because he cared about the things of God and sought His council. Esau, on the other hand God hated for his ways and attitudes.
Romans 9:11-13 (KJV) 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 — It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Genesis 25:31-33 (KJV) 31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
Romans 9:11-13 (NKJV) 11 (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), 12 it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.” 13 As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”
Genesis 25:31-33 (NKJV) 31 But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.”
32 And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?”
33 Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.”
So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.
Esau didn’t care for the things of God and sold his birthright for a bowl of beans. Esau married a Hittite woman, which are the descendants of Canaan. Esau is the progenitor of the Edomites. Edom or Idumea, the land south and southeast of Palestine. The people of Edom were enemies of God but the prophecy that the older would serve the younger did not come to pass until the time of King David.
Numbers 20:21 (KJV) 21 Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.
2 Samuel 8:13-14 (KJV) 13 And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.
14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David’s servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
Numbers 20:21 (NKJV) 21 Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; so Israel turned away from him.
2 Samuel 8:13-14 (NKJV) 13 And David made himself a name when he returned from killing eighteen thousand Syrians in the Valley of Salt. 14 He also put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the LORD preserved David wherever he went.
In the years of King David there were three different antichrist figures. The first being King Saul. King Saul started out well, but the power went to his head, and he started thinking he could do anything he wanted to do. God told Saul to go kill all of Amalek, which were the descendants of Esau. Saul let the king live and he kept the best of the cattle.
1 Samuel 15:2-3 (KJV) 2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. 3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
1 Samuel 15:9 (KJV) 9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
1 Samuel 15:2-3 (NKJV) 2 Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt.
3 Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”
1 Samuel 15:9 (NKJV) 9 But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed.
Goliath is also an example of antichrist. He mocks God and Israel. He stands against God and tries to destroy the people of God. David’s son Absalom was also an example. He killed his brother, Davids first born son. He rebelled against his father and staged a coup against David.
King David was called the man after God’s own heart. David made many mistakes, but he admitted he was guilty and repented, then he was never found to make that same mistake again. David loved God and did God’s will. He worshipped God and sought His council.
Acts 13:22-23 (KJV)
22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
23 Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
Acts 13:22-23 (NKJV)
22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’
23 From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior—Jesus—
In the New Testament Paul stands as an example of both spirits in one man. Paul who was first called Saul was a very zealous religious leader who became a type of bounty hunter to find and kill Christians. Saul thought he was doing God’s work. Saul was there when Stephen was stoned.
Acts 7:58-59 (KJV) 58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
Acts 9:1-5 (KJV) 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Acts 7:58-59 (NKJV) 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
Acts 9:1-5 (NKJV) 1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
5 And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”
Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”
When Paul was stopped and blinded by Jesus on the road to Damascus, he was amazed to find out these crazy Christians were right, and he was the one in the wrong. Saul completely repented and turned his life around after being baptized and receiving the Holy Ghost. Saul was an example of an antichrist who is determined to destroy God’s chosen people. He became Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament and became the Apostle to the Gentiles. Paul stands as an example of Christ as well as his most avid supporter. He was responsible for starting and building the majority of the early church. Paul took Jesus commission to preach the gospel to all nations as a personal challenge he did is best to accomplish.
1 Corinthians 2:1-2 (KJV) And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1 Corinthians 2:1-2 (NKJV) 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
There are more antichrist examples but these few stands to show how God sees those who oppose Him. Christ stood firm for all the things God loves and respects. Jesus submitted Himself to God’s will in everything He did.
Modern Day Antichrists
There have been many antichrists since the time of the Bible who can be described as metaphorically a brutal, bestial man, savage, and ferocious. One of the first brought to my mind is Muhammad who appeared about 600 years after Jesus. Muhammad is the founder of Islam who was born in Mecca around 570 AD.
When Muhammad was around 40 years old, he said he was visited by Gabriel while he was in a cave. Gabriel supposedly told him all about the god Allah and led him to write the verses of the Quran, which the religion is based on. In the Quran Jesus is shown to be a great prophet but not the Messiah. By John’s definition this one fact makes Muhammed an antichrist.
Acts 10:3-6 (KJV) 3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. 4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. 5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: 6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
Galatians 1:8 (KJV) 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Acts 10:3-6 (NKJV) 3 About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
4 And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?”
So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. 5 Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. 6 He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. He will tell you what you must do.”
Galatians 1:8 (NKJV) 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed
To become a Muslim, you must testify that you believe there is no God but Allah, and that Muhammad is God’s messenger. This is called the “shahada,” or declaration of faith in Allah. When a person takes this oath, or any other oath, that expresses faith in any other god, or denies Jesus as the Christ, they have just stamped the number 666 on their soul.
The Lord, the King of Israel, Yehovah is the only God. There is no other God, there is no other Christ, and Jesus is the son of God. By choosing to serve a human made god, you have professed yourself to be an enemy of God and Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 44:6-8 (KJV) 6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel,
and his redeemer the LORD of hosts;
I am the first, and I am the last;
and beside me there is no God.
7 And who, as I, shall call,
and shall declare it, and set it in order for me,
since I appointed the ancient people?
and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid:
have not I told thee from that time,
and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses.
Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Isaiah 44:6-8 (NKJV) There Is No Other God
6 “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel,
And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts:
I am the First and I am the Last;
Besides Me there is no God.
7 And who can proclaim as I do?
Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me,
Since I appointed the ancient people.
And the things that are coming and shall come,
Let them show these to them.
8 Do not fear, nor be afraid;
Have I not told you from that time, and declared it?
You are My witnesses.
Is there a God besides Me?
Indeed there is no other Rock;
I know not one.’ ”
Many nations have allowed the antichrist spirit to lead them to attacked Christians throughout history. Rome was one of the worst offenders. The Roman Empire and the Roman Catholic Church has killed more real Christians than any other group.
After Rome developed its own church in 325AD at the Council of Nicaea, they started killing anyone who disagreed with their own heresy. They changed baptism from Jesus’ name to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. They changed one God to three gods. They introduce statues of saints, or carved wooden images as God calls them. They encouraged worshiping dead saints and Jesus’s mother. Then they said that the Pope was God, and he was able to forgive sins.
The Roman Catholic Church changed the Sabbath, as it is stated in God’s law, from Saturday to Sunday. In doing so they changed the word of God, and the law of God, which God does not allow. Remember the Sabbath day is one of the Ten Commandments.
Exodus 20:8-11 (KJV) 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exodus 20:8-11 (NKJV) 8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
No, I am not a Seventh Day Adventist, but truth is truth. God said the Sabbath was on Saturday, and God doesn’t change His mind.
According to Wikipedia, The Council (or Synod) of Laodicea met in 363AD.The main concerns involved regulating the conduct of church members. The council expressed its decrees in written rules or canons. Canon 29 outlaws the keeping of the Sabbath on Saturday and encourages rest on Sunday.
Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.

In all fairness, Paul does talk about esteeming one day above another. Be persuaded in your mind that your reasons are just and true before God.
Romans 14:5-6 (KJV) 5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
Romans 14:5-6 (NKJV) 5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
Always question the reason behind everything you do and why you do it. Check traditions closely. Just because something has been done this way for a thousand years doesn’t make it right or approved of by God.
It is common to hear that the Pope is the antichrist and many Popes in the past have been labeled as such. Martin Luther used this as one of his main points for the reformation.
The Lutheran Book of Concord states, “The pope is the real Antichrist who has raised himself over and set himself against Christ . . . Accordingly, just as we cannot adore the devil himself as our lord or God, so we cannot suffer his apostle, the pope or Antichrist, to govern us as our head or lord”
Smalcald Articles 2:4:10, 14 Tweet
Personally, I do not believe the Pope will be the Beast. Whoever the Beast is, he will fool the Jews into believing he is their Messiah. The Pope would never be able to convince a One God Jew of anything since he believes in a Trinity. I think it is very possible that the Pope is and will be the False Prophet.
When asked about Islam the Pope says that we all serve the same God. The Pope may serve the same god as the Muslims, but I do not. I serve Yehovah God and Jesus is His Christ.
Matthew 24:23-28 (KJV) 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Matthew 24:23-28 (NKJV) 23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.
26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
Napoleon Bonaparte came into power by convincing France that he was their savior. He convinced France to follow him as he destroyed a large part of Europe. He was descended from Italian nobility, but he crowned himself Emperor of France. He brought about the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire in his goal to recreate the Roman Empire, but this time with France as the rulers. Napoleon was responsible for three to six million deaths during the wars from 1803 to 1814.
Next in the line of evil men is Adolf Hitler. Hitler was a German politician and the dictator of Nazi Germany. He was Fuhrer from 1933-45. His goal was territorial expansion and racial supremacy. In 1939 Germany invaded Poland. Great Britain and France responded, and World War 2 began. Hitler’s anti-Semitism and his pursuit of Aryan supremacy led to the slaughter of six million Jews, along with others. Hitler and the Nazis followed Aryanism which teaches that the Aryan race is a distinct and superior race that is entitled to rule the rest of humanity. They invaded other countries to clean out the subhuman races to make room for racially pure people.
While Hitler was absolutely evil, he did not manage these horrible things by himself. The German people looked the other way or took part in what he was doing. The Holocaust was the state-sponsored persecution and mass murder of millions of Jews, Romani people, intellectually disable, political dissidents, and homosexuals by the German Nazi Regime.
The Ottoman Empire, or the Turkish Empire, fought religious wars all over Europe. They held the title of Caliph, meaning they were the leaders of all Muslims worldwide. The Ottoman’s started the extermination of its ethnic Armenian population that ended with 1.5 million people killed.
The Ottoman Empire granted certain freedoms to Christians, Jews, and other “people of the book” as they labeled them. There were some legal restrictions including being forbidden to carry weapons, ride a horse, have a home that overlook those of Muslims, and they paid higher taxes. Because of this many Christians and Jews converted to Islam to secure full social and legal status in the country.
Saddam Hussein was an Iraqi politician and revolutionary. He was known for his ability to command respect and install fear in his followers. Saddam led many genocide campaigns against different groups. Some reports list Saddam as the person responsible for the 911 attacks and just as many states he had nothing to do with it.
Saddam Hussein and the Baath party used violence, killing, torture, execution, arbitrary arrest, unlawful detention, enforced disappearance, and various forms of repression to control the population. Saddam was convicted of crimes against humanity and was sentenced to death by hanging.
Osama bin Laden is said to have been the organizer of the 911 attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people. He founded the terrorist organization al Qaeda and started attacking multiple countries and killed thousands of people. Al Qaeda is a militant organization whose goal is to bring about Islamist revolution to unite the Muslim world under a supra-national Islamic state known as Caliphate. A Qaeda was created to serve as a “vanguard” for jihad, which is generally defined as war against infidels or unbelievers as a religious duty.
All these are examples of the evil of the antichrist spirit coming to power and convincing others to follow their insane ideas. When the antichrist steps onto the scene he will be a very charismatic leader who has the ability to convince people that he has all the answers. In these examples, the people around then thought what they were saying was right.
The people around them looked the other way or actively supported these murders until it was too late to even try to stop them. They had too much power. Too many neighbors, family, and friends were their avid supporters. If one person stepped out of line, the rest attacked and destroyed them before they could be convinced of their own guilt and sin. The same will be true of this last antichrist. He will cause a snowball effect that the rest of the world will be too busy with their lust of the flesh entertainment to really pay attention. By the time they wake up it will be too late. Don’t get so caught up in the pleasures the world has to offer that you miss the warning the world will be ending in seven years.
A Seven-Year Peace Treaty
What is the sign that the 70th week has started? The time of Tribulation known as Jacob’s Trouble or Daniel’s 70th week will begin when the man of sin or the antichrist is revealed. Only those who are prayed up and watching will know and understand the timing.
2 Thessalonians 2:2-4 (KJV) 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2 Thessalonians 2:2-4 (NKJV) 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
I can only use America as an example but since 1950 there has been a mass falling away from God. America has taken God out of everything and restricted Him to a few small buildings where fewer and fewer people attend to listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
Bishop TW Barnes prophesied before his death that God was moving along in a straight line now, but the day was coming when He would make a turn and only those who were paying attention would realize and turn with Him. Those who did not turn would go along having good church and God would not reach out to them again to bring them to truth. They will be among those at the throne when Jesus says, “I never knew you”. Jesus never had a close personal relationship with them because they were too focused on their own desires, on building crowds, on pleasing people, and on making a name for themselves.
In 2017, that prophecy of “Thus said the Lord” turning time came to pass, and God made a sharp turn. Those who were watching with their lamps full of oil paid attention and turned to follow. These will be End Time warriors and witnesses in these last days. These will be given more power and authority to do the will and the work of God because they truly understand what God’s will is and do not seek selfishly to do their own.
Revelation 11:1-3 (KJV) 1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Revelation 11:1-3 (NKJV) 1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. 2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
As explained in Chapter 2, I personally believe the two witnesses will be the church and the Messianic Jews. Again, as stated, you don’t have to agree with me but search the Bible and see what God will show you. The two witnesses will be given great power for three and a half years. A thousand two hundred and threescore days and forty and two months both equal three and a half years.
The Antichrist is known my many names in the Bible. Through Daniel and Revelation, he is called the man of sin or the Beast. Daniel says the last antichrist will come to power speaking great things.
Daniel 7:8 (KJV) 8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:8 (NKJV) 8 I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.
There are five covenants that God made with the children of Israel. The Abrahamic, the Land, the Davidic, and the new covenant are all unconditional covenants that God will bring to pass no matter what the children of Israel did in the past or in the future.
- Abrahamic (Genesis 12:1-7)
- Land (Genesis 13:14-17, Deuteronomy 29:1 – 30:20)
- Davidic (2 Samuel 7:1-17)
- New covenant (Jerimiah 31:31-37)
- Mosaic (Exodus 19:5-9)
These covenants are a part of God’s full plan of salvation for the earth that was designed before He created the foundations of the earth.
Matthew 25:34 (KJV) 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Matthew 25:34 (NKJV) 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
The Mosaic Covenant was not one of salvation. This covenant was conditional on the obedience of Israel to God’s commandments. They would be cursed for not obeying God but if and when they did obey it would distinctly mark the children of Israel as a special kingdom of priests and a holy nation, different from all others. It would also establish Israel in the land of their fathers, and no one could ever take that land from them again.
Deuteronomy 30:5 (KJV) 5 And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.
Deuteronomy 30:20 (KJV) 20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
Deuteronomy 30:5 (NKJV) 5 Then the LORD your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.
Deuteronomy 30:20 (NKJV) 20 that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
God told Abraham I will give you all the land you see and walk upon. Abraham began his walking at Ur of the Chaldees which is in Iraq close to the Euphrates River. The Euphrates River begins in Turkey and flows through Syria and Iraq to the Persian Gulf. Abraham travels to Haran and then later travels to Egypt. His travels make a triangle that God describes as the land of the fathers of Israel.
Genesis 15:18 (KJV) 18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Genesis 17:8 (KJV) 8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
Genesis 15:18 (NKJV) 18 On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying:
“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates—
Genesis 17:8 (NKJV) 8 Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”
Notice in the map of the land, the children of Israel did not conquer and possess all the land that God promised to Abraham. The land the state of Israel claims as their own today is smaller than what they conquered and much less than what was promised to Abraham.
Israel is in a constant battle with neighboring countries. On April 13, 2024, Iran launched over 300 drones and missiles at Israel. Notice in this picture the missile coming in over the temple mound. Wouldn’t it be something if God used a Muslim nation, like Iran, to destroy the Dome of the Rock and make room for a 3rd temple!
The last Antichrist will appear during this war-torn time with a solution to bring peace to the Middle East. He will be insolent and skilled in intrigue and cunning. He will show up with all the answers and many nations will agree to set him in a place of power. He will not come to power by his army’s successful conquest but by secrecy and plotting.
Daniel 8:23 (KJV) 23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
Daniel 8:23 (JPS 1917) 23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have completed their transgression, there shall stand up a king of fierce countenance, and understanding stratagems.
Daniel 8:23 (NKJV) 23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom,
When the transgressors have reached their fullness,
A king shall arise,
Having fierce features,
Who understands sinister schemes.
Daniel 9:26-27 (KJV) 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Daniel 9:26-27 (NKJV) 26 “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”
Israels enemies will agree to the treaty for their own reasons, such as it makes economic sense to do so or the cost of maintaining constant war is too much. The treaty will include allowing the Jews to preform sacrifices on the temple mound again.
Part of the prophecy about the antichrist is that he will set himself up as Christ. For the Jews to accept this person as their Messiah he must at least appear to be a Jew. The Jews will be fooled by him for three and a half years until he breaks the covenant and reveals the evil of who he really is.
Daniel 7:24-25 (KJV) 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Daniel 7:24-25 (NKJV) 24 The ten horns are ten kings
Who shall arise from this kingdom.
And another shall rise after them;
He shall be different from the first ones,
And shall subdue three kings.
25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall persecute the saints of the Most High,
And shall intend to change times and law.
Then the saints shall be given into his hand
For a time and times and half a time.
During this three and a half years of peace with Israel the antichrist will be attacking and destroying Christians. The Jews will most likely be led to believe all those who believed in Jesus are really devil worshippers that must be eliminated for the real Messiah to take full power. Whatever means of trickery is used, God allows him power over the saints to kill them.
Daniel 8:9-14 (KJV) 9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. 11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? 14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
Daniel 8:9-14 (NKJV) 9 And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. 10 And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. 11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. 12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered.
13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, “How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot?”
14 And he said to me, “For two thousand three hundred days; then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.”
Daniel’s 70 weeks began in the time of Zerubbabel around 538BC. The 2300 years of cleansing the sanctuary began at that time. This included the destruction of Herod’s temple in 70AD and continued through the 18th century. Martin Luther, Napoleon, the Ottoman Empire, and others helped bring about the cleansing of the temple of God by breaking the hold the Roman Empire had on the world. In 1611, the Bible was translated to English by King James. For the first time the people could read the word for themselves and realize just how badly they had been lied to. The full reformation began as more people pulled away from the false religions created by men.
Daniel 8:23-25 (KJV) 23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Daniel 8:23-25 (NKJV) 23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom,
When the transgressors have reached their fullness,
A king shall arise,
Having fierce features,
Who understands sinister schemes.
24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
He shall destroy fearfully,
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.
25 “Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity.
He shall even rise against the Prince of princes;
But he shall be broken without human means.
The Antichrist will have power, but that power will be given to him by other nations. He will manage to destroy the saints and later the Jews by claiming this is all done in the name of peace. In exactly the same ways Napoleon and Hitler manage to kill millions of people.
By means of his crafty and cunning mind his lie will grow and he will magnify his own power. He will use his new power to destroy even more of God’s people or those who oppose him. In the end only Jesus will be able to destroy him.
Daniel 11:36-39 (KJV) 36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. 37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. 38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. 39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
Daniel 11:36-39 (NKJV) 36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.
Daniel 11 appears to be talking about a false god, such as Allah, but he could also be talking about Satan. Paul wrote in 2 Thessalonians that the antichrist would exalt himself above all gods. But Daniel says that he will pay tribute to some false god and give him power to rule over people. This could mean that he will acknowledge Allah and pay the Islamic states to go along with his plans.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (KJV) 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Verse 4 says he exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped. Isaiah 14 describes Satan as saying. “I will exalt my throne above God “.
Ezekiel 28 says he said, ” I am a God and I sit in the seat of God “, but he is a man. The way the Beast is described, I believe, Satan will personally possess ” the man ” who is called ” the beast ” in the last three and a half years.
Isaiah 14:13-15 (KJV) 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isaiah 14:13-15 (NKJV) 13 For you have said in your heart:
I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’
15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,
To the lowest depths of the Pit.
Ezekiel 28:2-5 (KJV) 2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God: 3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee: 4 With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures: 5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
Ezekiel 28:2-5 (NKJV) 2 “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD:“Because your heart is lifted up,And you say, ‘I am a god,I sit in the seat of gods,In the midst of the seas,’Yet you are a man, and not a god,Though you set your heart as the heart of a god 3 (Behold, you are wiser than Daniel!There is no secret that can be hidden from you!
4 With your wisdom and your understandingYou have gained riches for yourself,And gathered gold and silver into your treasuries; 5 By your great wisdom in trade you have increased your riches,And your heart is lifted up because of your riches)
Notice in Isaiah 14, how many times Satan says “I will” meaning he made himself a god by choosing to do his own will and not God’s will. The antichrist will act in the same manner. The beast will be a human man who exalts himself above God.
The Beast will use the power of Satan and his demons to find out things he shouldn’t know. Since it says no secret can be hidden from him. He gets his riches from his wisdom; this has the sound of blackmail. The Beast is supposed to be able to do all kinds of miracles, that he will have to use demonic power to accomplish.
2 Thessalonians 2:5-12 (KJV) 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thessalonians 2:5-12 (NKJV) 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Those who haven’t loved the truth and focused their life on following the true spirit of God, will be fooled by these false miracles. I heard one man ask a question; “What if an alien landed in a spaceship and told you there never was a god it was all just us aliens on another planet, watching you guys try so hard to please us”. What would you do? What would you believe? Do you think Satan can make such a thing happen? He can, and he will make something of the sort happen that will convince the weak Christians of this world there is no god but him.
Daniel 11:40-45 (KJV) 40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. 41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. 44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. 45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Daniel 11:40-45 (NKJV) 40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. 44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.
The Beast holds the riches of Egypt, Libya, and Ethiopia, so he must have conquered them in some way or they chose to serve him. In the end the antichrist will turn all the neighboring countries against him. They will turn on him and begin attacking.
The Roman Empire
The book of Daniel spans the entire seventy years of the captivity of the children of Israel in Babylon. Daniel was a prophet of God and well loved. God gave Daniel visions of what was happening in his time, what would happen when their captivity was over, the Messiah, the Last Days, and the Judgement. Daniel became God’s spokes person for the Jews and the Gentiles to declare God’s purposes.
In chapter 2, King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream and God reveals the meaning to Daniel. The king dreamed about this great image with a head of gold, chest and arms of silver, belly and thighs of bronze, legs of iron, and feet and ten toes made of iron and clay mixed.
Daniel tells the King the image represents the different kingdoms that will rule after him all the way to the end of time. The great kingdoms that would rule the world after Babylon were the Medes and Persians, Greece, and Rome. The image’s gold head represented Babylon. The silver chest and two arms are the Mede and Persians. The belly and thighs of bronze stands for Greece. The legs of iron stand for the Roman Empire.
Daniel 2:43-44 (KJV) 43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
Daniel 2:43-44 (NKJV) 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
Daniel explains that the feet and toes made of iron and clay will be the last kingdoms of this world. Jesus will return and crush these kingdoms and establish His own kingdom that will stand for eternity. Notice the point that they will try to mingle themselves together. These kingdoms will be made up of different types of people, such as Muslims and Christians. While they will try to work together, they are two diverse to act as one body.
After the death of Constantine in 337AD, the Roman Empire was divided into two parts and became the Eastern and Western Roman Empire. The Western part was defeated and broken into different kingdoms. The Eastern part became the Byzantine Empire. In 800 AD the Holy Roman Empire began.
In chapter 7, Daniel has a vision of four great beasts coming out of the sea. The first is a lion with eagles wings.
The last beast is different from the others, and it had ten horns. A little horn came up and replaced three horns. Now there are eight horns. This horn has eyes and a mouth that spoke powerful things.
You could spend years researching who these kingdoms are and the dates they took power. Don’t get caught up in the complexity of where all these images, beasts, and their kingdoms are. Most of them are from the past and don’t matter anymore. Most equal up to some form of Rome. Get a basic understanding that these are nations and the powers that rule them. When you see a man make a seven-year treaty of peace with Israel; he is the one. Mystery solved.
Granted I am the one writing this Bible study, but I will freely admit that I don’t know everything or understand everything. I am a student of the Word. Which means I pray for the Lord to explain things to me then I spend time reading, cross referencing, and researching, then praying again to get more understanding. With all that, I still learn something new from the Holy Ghost every time I pick up this book. Pray and study these scriptures and see what God will explain to you about them.
In Chapter 4 we will cover what I understand, of what John said about the Beast in Revelations. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any updates.
