Romans 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 4:1-2 (KJV) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Why didn’t the word preached profit them?
God will confirm His word when we have faith. Faith comes by hearing, but Faith becomes a part of your life when you practice it daily. Reading the Bible is more than just an intellectual exercise. We must apply what we learn and build on our knowledge day by day, every day.
1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Remember the Bible interprets the Bible. There is nothing in the Bible that cannot be understood. If someone starts to tell you…I don’t have any scriptures for that …. you’re just going to have to have faith that what I say is true…
Run away fast. Anything God expects from us, He gave us scriptures to explain it. It does require faith to believe that the book you hold in your hand is the word of God. Because the world and its system are going to do everything they can to convince you that it is not true and try to discredit the word of God. Only your faith in God will keep you firmly grounded in His word.
